The Japanese drink sake.
The Russians get soaked on ***.
English people enjoy their tea.
Scotishmen get wasted on whisky.
Sul-mato-grossenses have 'tereré'.
A lot of it.
Well, you're probably asking what the f*#@ is...
TE - RE - RÉ.
Tereré is a traditional beverage made by the infusion of yerba mate on chilled water.
But, to drink it, you must use a metal straw...
and a horn.
The name 'tereré'...
is due to the sound made when all the water was sucked up.
Does they sound alike?
I thought they didn't.
Tereré is not usually a beverage consumed alone.
Generally, it is shared among a group of two or more people..
sitting in a circle.
The tereré circle is a great option to gather some friends and kill some time.
Or if you don't have anything better to do.
No to mention, it's the only social interaction form in which...
...you can deliver spit to a group of many, without at least asking them out before.
- Eeew... That's gross! - Get outta here...
- I'm leaving!
What can I do, right?
