Potaka Maipi was with the fresh new faces of activism
at Te Tii Marae today.
Although there were few marchers,
the people at Waitangi heard the protest to oil drilling,
but don't think all the blame was to be put on the government.
Maori political figures waving their banners for the sea.
They started with the PM, then turned on the iwi leaders.
Where are they?
The problem is that I see them on TV,
but they haven't come in person
to discuss the topic of the day, Waitangi.
They've come to the big hotel over there, but why?
To talk to the PM.
Why?
All for money.
Maori judges came under fire.
We reporters were corrected for labelling the marchers 'protesters'.
The protestors got their voice heard on Te Tii Marae through the women.
Sovereignty must be maintained,
but deep-sea resources continue to be sold off to foreign powers.
Why?
To make money for their conglomerates.
The Iwi Leaders Forum is fed up with Maori fighting Maori.
Their only goal is to honour the Treaty,
and there are many ways this can be achieved.
