Ok well, my name is Melissa Schultz, and I live in Foothill Ranch, California.
I got the house is '06 and it was...my note was immediately sold to the servicer
then under Bear Stern EMC mortgage, and it has been a nightmare since day one dealing with these people.
Um...even while paying on time, I was harrassed daily saying that I didn't pay.
I had people calling me 8, 9 times a day and I would fax them a proof of payment. The next day it would be lost.
I would have to do it all over again. I had people hanging up on me, calling me stupid, or when I would call back and demand to talk to a supervisor they would hang up on me.
And this just went on daily. It took a big toll on my work, on my health, on my sanity.
It was just um...EMC was one of the worst servicing companies I have ever dealt with.
I'm still in the same house actually. When it was under Bear Stern I ended up modifying the loan on my own
only after calling the CEO, calling the top. It took months, and months, and months, and months.
And the modification was nothing, actually it added more to my principal. I was put into a loan I didn't deserve in the first place
which was a neg am. 2 piggyback loans, 7 and 12 percent.
At that time I put $17,000 down towards my house. I had good credit, I had good employment. I did not deserve that loan.
Um...now I owe more than the house is worth plus um...
My, on the first, my principal started at, let's see...$264 and now it's at $280 because of neg am.
The second was at $49,000 and now it's at $50 plus. Not one dime has gone towards lowering my principal.
And no modification has lowered my monthly payment, or done anything to rectify all the...
all of this that we've gone through. EMC customer service has so many violations of the fair, the collection practice act
especially with EMC, I mean the things they did was just...unbelievable. I don't know how they get away with it.
