Hey whats up guys, it's Another Monster. Today I'm going to show you
how to make a high pitched scream sound.
You may have heard if you listen any my productions you may have heard the sound before
It's a patch that I made a while back
It's actually a pretty simple patch, but
pretty awesome sound. You might compare it to
some of the high pitch squeal sounds that
you'll hear in Skrillex tracks, or I think I've heard a similar sound
In a couple Nero tracks.
But anyway, let's go ahead and
show you the sound that we're going for here. It's going to sound like this...
so yeah, that really gritty, but high pitched
high pitched but it still sounds good.
Let's go ahead and open up
a new massive.
Alright, now go to file new sound and then we're only going to use one oscillator for
this patch.
so... and actually it turns out
I just used the square saw 1
so that should automatically pop up right there when you
go to file: new sound. Now let's move the pitch
down to -24
so down two octaves. And then the wave table position
I'm going to turn that all the way down. The intensity and the amp should both
be all the way up.
Right here I'm going to move this *** all the way up like that, and then
for the first filter, I'm just going to add a scream filter.
Now, where it says cut off
I'm going to turn this down just a little bit. So it's going to be just above the
9 o'clock position.
Where it says scream I'm just going to turn that all the way down.
And then resonance just below the 9 o'clock position so
right around there. And then
Let's go ahead and go to the FX. Where it says FX1...
I'm going to put a brauner tube on there. And then I'm going to turn down the dry/wet
Just a little bit...and you can leave the drive where it is.
For FX2 lets go ahead and add a dimension expander on there.
and then I'm actually going to boost the dry/wet a little bit.
but we're going to turn the size
all the way down. Now
where EQ... I'm going to boost the high shelf a little bit.
Probably right in there, and then boost the frequency little bit.
and the boost can be turned up about the same as the frequency.
And then I just take out a little bit of the low shelf.
so right around in there...
Alright, so let's go ahead and go to envelope 1.
and let's turn the attack all the way down.
This level all the way down. The decay I'm gonna wanna put
pretty much right in between the 9 o'clock and the 12 o'clock position.
So like right in there.
Turn this level all the way up.
S Loop and Morph are going to stay the same, but over here on the right where it says release...
let's go ahead and turn that all the way up.
Now, down here where it says insert 1... let's go ahead and click that.
And I'm just going to add a hardclipper to fatten up the sound a little bit.
Now, let's go back to envelope 1...
I'm going to click this right here.
put it on the cutoff on filter 1.
just slide that all the way up.
Again, we're gonna put it on the scream filter and I'm going to put it up
not quite to the 12 o'clock position.
So like right there. And then again on the resonance
and I'm going to put it up to right about there.
a little bit closer to 3 o'clock position
but still in between the 3 o'clock and the 12 o'clock position.
Right here...
the scream...depending on what key you're producing in...
you may wanna move this up or down
to actually get it in the right key.
Also, you can mess with the resonance too
to kind of change the tone of it
and get a little bit different sound...so right now
we pretty much should have the same sound. Let's see how that's sounding...
So yeah, the sound is clipping pretty bad as you can see.
Just turn down the master to get it where you want it.
OK. Now let me show you
for example if I were to turn the scream up a little bit...
it's going to get like a higher pitched sound
so you can get some really cool sounds...
out of this.
Again, with the resonance if I were to turn it down, it will draw out the low end a bit
You can just tweak that patch
and get a lot of different cool sounds out of it.
