Hi there! I’m from Close To My Heart. Today I’ll show
you how to accentuate the images found in the My Acrylix®
On This Day stamp set. This stamp set is perfect for
journaling on layouts and capturing the date of a
particular event, but it’s also perfect for invitations and cards,
like this one. This card uses a couple of focal images
that have layered elements to add a colorful pop.
Let’s take a look at how we achieve this technique.
All I need to complete this look is a few pieces of cardstock,
and I’ve chosen Kraft, Bamboo, and Twilight,
as well as a Chocolate Exclusive Inks® stamp pad,
micro-tip scissors, and of course, my stamp image.
First, stamp the image in Chocolate ink on all
three pieces of cardstock, like I’ve done here.
Then, figure out what you want to feature in each color.
I’ve chosen a Kraft base, so that means I’ll be cutting out the
Bamboo and Twilight images and then layering them on the Kraft cardstock.
I’ve already pre-cut the Bamboo and Twilight pieces like this,
so that the Bamboo piece just shows the months and the
Twilight piece is now in three segments, showing the border
and the specific date, which is Saturday, February 26th.
Then, I just adhere the pieces together,
starting with the Bamboo image, like this. I’d continue adhering
the pieces until all of the layers were how I wanted them.
Here’s a little tip: I recommend using the
Bonding Memories® Glue Pen for the skinny cardstock pieces.
Now, let’s look at more pieces of art using this versatile stamp set.
First, on this card, I used the heat embossing and
embossed resist techniques for the “Admit One” tickets.
You may not be able to tell on screen, but the heat embossing
adds shine and a little dimension to the image.
For this layout, I used several images from the set and then colored
the pertinent dates with a coordinating Exclusive Inks marker.
I loved working with this stamp set, and you will, too!
