if you're over eighteen years old and you haven't received the sacrament of
confirmation yet
now is the time
adult confirmation is for those who are over eighteen years old have been baptized
catholic receive their first eucharist
but never been confirmed

meets every sunday starting april seventh
the celebration of confirmation for adults takes place here transfiguration
on sunday april seventh at the noon mass
if you haven't yet received confirmation don't miss this opportunity to have the
holy spirit stirred inside you
you may find it hard to believe but things have been both wild
and wacky at our preschool lately
first the kids celebrated the birthday of doctor seuss with wacky week
monday was crazy hat day
tuesday silly socks
wednesday was wacky wednesday
thursday pajama day
at friday was many colors day
clearly the good doctor would be very proud
the wild also happened during wacky week ms. joy visited for a little science
excitement as the kids learn all about mini monsters
they found out all about spiders got to explore crickets
and got some hands-on learning with earthworks
it was creepy
crawly fun for all
i was sitting in my office
and all of the sudden
this little green thing ran by and i looked down the hall
and i think it was larry
but he's really really little
and he ran up my arm and he tried to give me a kiss, and he did but then he ran away
so i need you all to be carefully
on the lookout for him
and of course what's march without a visit from everyone's favorite mischievous
little green guy
larry the leprechaun
the preschoolers made some creative and innovative traps
but larry was much too fast
too crafty to get caught
and while he left the classrooms a mess
he did manage to leave some nice treats for the kids too
maybe next year
someone will finally catch larry
if you have a youngster don't forget about our second annual blessing of the
bikes and the big wheels saturday march twenty third
ten a_m_ till noon right outside the family life center kids two to eight
years old are invited to be part of this kick off
to spring fun
transfiguration's religious education fourth-graders recently took a service
project to grand new heights
after visiting the saint vincent de paul society pantry
they brought a much needed items as donations
the classes participate in a building contest
with those donated items
and one class even worked out building a cathedral
you know saint francis of assisi had a special dedication for the needy
and the teens here at our parish are following his example with their mission
trips
over one hundred forty teens and chaperones from transfiguration will be
participating it mission trips this summer to jackson mississippi and
nashville tennessee
at a cost of over five hundred dollars per person
we're asking you to help to perform christ's work by donating to our trip
for any donation of twenty five dollars or more you can add your name or
business printed on the back of the mission trip t-shirts sponsorships could be done
in the cristeen office online
or after masses with any of the teens that are present at the table
now with a special message for holy week here's our monsignor pat bishop
on today's program
you've heard this schedule for the most solemn of all weeks of the year in the catholic church holy week
on thursday
the lord sits down sits down to supper with his disciples for the last time and washes their feet
friday the stations of the cross give us the
opportunity to walk with him to calvary
that night the solemn passion of the lord is
celebrated as the cross comes into the church and a prayer service, not a mass commemorates his death
communion is received and
everyone leaves in silence
then on saturday
the most important mass of the entire year
the easter vigil mass if you've never attended one
you should at least once in your life be there for the liturgy that
is the most rich and full
celebration we have in the roman catholic church
signs of water, fire, the descent
of the holy spirit
and of course the proclamation
first first heard that night that
jesus christ is risen from the dead and he is lord
the celebration continues with all the masses on
easter sunday
remember those sunday masses have a different schedule
easter is our greatest feast in the name of heaven
there is no reason to miss the
easter celebrations and on holy thursday and good friday
the liturgies are so full of the signs and the wonders
of god sending
his only son to us
that we might have life and have it to the full
it's no ordinary week make plans to be here thursday friday
saturday night at the easter vigil and certainly on easter sunday he is risen from the dead he lives and in him we live too walk the passion witness the death so that you can stand before the empty tomb with confidence that
your faith is not a folly god bless you and have a good holy week and a very happy easter
