Legrand® -- Wiring Projects Made Easy®
Wiremold® Cablemate® Cord Organizer
Now you can conceal and organize the tangle of unsightly cables in your home office or behind your entertainment center.
Cablemate® Chair Rail, Baseboard, and Cord Organizer handle the most cable-intensive applications.
Watch how fast and simple it is to organize the cords in a home office workstation using Cablemate® Chair Rail.
The tools we’ll need are:
tape measure, a drill with a 7/32” bit, a Phillips head screwdriver, a hammer, a fine tooth hacksaw, pliers, and a level.
The Wiremold components we’ll need are:
one section of Cablemate® Chair Rail Channel,
two end caps,
and one Chair Rail cord opening.
First, draw a level line with a pencil at the height you want to mount the chair rail.
Next, determine locations for the cord opening.
In this case, we need to accommodate cords for a computer, printer, and a router.
Mark screw locations for the cord opening.
Drill the holes in the drywall.
Tap in anchors and attach the cord opening.
Now, measure the distance from the outlet or feed source to the cord opening.
Then, cut and install an appropriate length of chair rail.
Install remaining Chair Rail channel on the opposite end of the cord opening.
Now lay all the cords through the three channels of the cord opening.
Power and data should be top or bottom; data or phone in the center.
Snap the hinged cover closed on each section of chair rail.
Feed cables through the opening at the exit point and snap the cover closed.
Remove knockouts as required.
Slide end caps over each channel, and you’re done!
Your cords are concealed and organized.
