Okay, I'm also going to cut out a heart and a star to decorate our cake. And again, you
want to put down a little bit of powdered sugar, and lightly coat the fondant with the
sugar, so it won't be sticking. You could even coat the rolling pin with a little of
the powdered sugar. And you want to roll that out a bit. I'm working on a piece of baking
paper, a non-stick baking paper so that it will be easy for me to lift and it won't stick
to the surface. There you go, we'll let that dry. And I'll make a yellow star. You do the
same thing, you just take a bit of your fondant. Now the fondant that is left over, you can
add back into your color, and if it gets too dry from the confectioner's sugar, you can
also knead it back in. If ever your fondant gets too dry, you can grease your hands up
again with the shortening or a margarine. And then just knead it and knead it and it
will soften up. And I'm going to make a little star here. You can use all kinds of cookie
cutters to decorate with this fondant. It's so easy. It's like working with a modeling
clay.
