It feels really good to see the work in the gallery. When I started this body of work,
I determined that I just wanted to make work that I really cared about at every level.
And I knew I wanted to make work about the figure. And I knew I wanted to make work with
color. So how can I make work that had a lot of color and the figure in it? So I started
taking all these photos. And playing around with Photoshop and just trying to get to something
that was visually beautiful to me. And in the process, it almost became a commentary
on just how the image of humanities filter through so many different things. And how
what we see is a lot different than what we are. But then what we see is still really
beautiful in the end. I think the fact that everything was on film for the show, the fact
that every part of our process, the ups and the downs and when we get started, the mundane
stuff, the exciting stuff. I feel like that's the coolest part of the show is that you see
us in the studio. You see us working. And you see us start from nothing and get something.
That's by far my favorite part is seeing something that looks awful at first and all of a sudden
it just becomes something really cool. And then it's really great to see that piece from
that episode nine challenge. It looks really great in here. You guys did an amazing job
laying it out. It looks so nice and spacious, fits everything so perfectly. And it looks
really great to see it.
