Hi, I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to put together
a druid costume today. Alright, our druid now is all robed up. He has his hood up he
is ready to hit the town. But before he goes there is a couple of other props we can give
to him to send him on his way. One of these is a scythe. Now why a scythe? This isn't
for necessarily a nefarious or evil purpose. Although certainly it can be intimidating.
The plastic weaponry they have out now a days. You can get this at most convenient or department
stores or of course costume stores. Most of the year round at costume stores. Around September
and October for the convenience stores. The reason why we are having this is a scythe
represents the harvest. You use it to help reap wheat and other agricultural products
primarily wheat and grain. So it is something you associate with the harvest and and of
course the Samhain as the druids celebrated it was all about the changing of seasons.
It was a very magical time when spirits were believed to roam free and this was all timed
with the cycles that the earth was going through. October 31st was the end of summer beginning
of fall. So having things that symbolize the harvest and fall is very good for your druid.
