Thank you for coming to Santiago Channel. My name is Santi.
Can I ask you a question?
have you ever thought about working in Japan
or are you thinking that
to study Japanese?
Well, in this Channel, Im going to have a guest who is already done that kinda stuff
or who is working with Japan from other countries
and share his or her experience with you
life experience in Japan so for you
you can have some idea to work over there to study Japanese,
beforehand. Because I was so some people
who studied Japanese for about six years, seven years
through his life. came to Japan finally, and got a job in Japanese
company. Dream job right? they started working but they feel depressed.
because they didn't know the culture and they felt
what the heck.
I saw
I saw those people before. But I dont want you to
feel that kinda stuff
Today I have a guest he came from
taiwan. His name is Mic. He's working at moment
Travel agency company in Japan
so please welcome Mic !
Thank you for coming Mic.
Thank you Santi. Thank you. So, Mic,
how do you feel to work in Japan?
happy? fun?
First of all
travel agency, l love working in travel agency
I love traveling so this is the right field right?
Its great, everything about the
work descriptions is fine. I love it i love the contents
a few things i have to complain. wow
you cutting into the complaint already, okay exactly . so what is the complaint?
complain is you have to be there for
such a long time over 12 hours hours. this is given
At office 12 hours!? but you getting lots of money by that. no?
well you get the same salary
whether you work 12 hours yeah
nice suit, nice watch, nice tie, hell year, work hard
haha, I see . Same salary
yes. Ok, but you have to stay there because
you didnt finish your work that's why. Its, your
if you're doing extra work sure you get
you get over time. Not all the company does
so its not bad
Its OK to work in Japan It's not bad
well and its same as Taiwan as well, no? In Taiwan
I know Taiwan people they work hard, dont they?
not as hard as Japanese Tell us the difference.
alright, usually get to punch out in Taiwan around 8 p.m. 9 p.m.
and you'll be complaining already so late today
the so much extra work But in Japan
eight or nine is considered very little Yeah,,
however on the description its says 6:30pm
but really means 8:30pm
or 9pm. and when you stay until 11pm
it's considered a little late I know some people
they stay until 2 a.m. when they have to go they have to take a taxi
and guess what? After 12am company doesnt pay for it
wow,,, you have to pay your own taxi home
well
I am simple man,and I dont work
in that style in this company actually but my curiosity is
ls that because of you? you didnt do your work, you didnt finish your task?
by the time, because your capability is low,
oops :) thats fine thats fine thats fine
maybe my capability is low thats why I am having so much overtime
but it's also in the culture in Japanese working-class culture that
this very interesting if you have completed your task on time
each time everytime, you're supposed to leave around
you know, the described
time let's say, at most
7 p.m. reasonable right?
you have done all your job nothing left for work
but if you leave at 7 p.m.
you start caring about other people See, the people
in Japanese company they work until late hours
they're willing to sacrifice their you know
aaa, they stayed there
hungry, they stay there leaving their families behind
they're willing to be in the office and saying that
you are leaving at 7 p.m. kinda feel bad
you are like "Is there anything
I have not done yet? Is there anything I can do?"
so start asking people around. Is there anything I can do?
then they give you more job and you start doing it and that's every day
I see
Yes Well now there are interesting part
So people start saying that is there anything I can do
Yes. For what? For more work?
to steal their job? I guess that the Japanese hospitality and the hospitality
their mannerism because they leave early
considered rude
is considered rude....
let's say I'm your boss and you leave before me
I will be like Whats Going On!?
not all the companies are like that my boss is not like that by the way
in general, this is very... usual,,,
usual yea some but some old style
mind company
yeah
alright Mic
I believe there are some Taiwanese people over the screen
so,, please speak in your native language
to your Taiwanese brothers and sisters who is thinking to work in Japan
or wanna work in Japan, or have to work in Japan in next 10 days
