welcome to the tonight show tonight we have our special guest and sixteenth
president of the united states abraham lincoln
hello my fellow americans i have come to speak today on behalf of my actions of
the constitution and for the reasons of my actions
so it's a start off our show
here's a question
president lincoln don't you think you've acted outside the law to ensure unity
and success for the north during the civil war?
because if i did not make changes to the constitution
there would be new constitution
i know the congress was not in session during wartime so i had to take action
myself
in what ways do you take action in order to preserve the union, victory for the
north,
and save our nation?
well
one i proclaimed a blockade, second increased the size of the federal
army, thirdly directed secretary of treasury to advance $2 million dollars
and lastly,
suspended writ of habeus corpus which means the criminals would get sent
to jail without a reason
and i believe my iron-handed authority was essential to saving the nation
very interesting
why do you think jefferson davis could not think of this?
jefferson davis lacked arbitrary power
creativity and leadership unlike me! IM GEE!
he aint about dat life
well that wraps up our show for today see you later alligators
