Okay, it's, ahh, just past eleven, the date is 10.19.81
and the third stage my plan is go!
Oh, Clutch Gumstone, audio log number two. Ahh, I should have prepared
something to say at this event.
Oh well. When I'm in the field I won't be going off a script, so I may as well start now.
I got a sensor alert at somepony leaving a stable far off in the
eastern desert. The place is so remote that i don't even remember putting sensor out there.
I'm packing up anything i might need for desert travel while Grimfeathers is getting ready.
He says it's going to take at least two days of hard flying to get out that far,
so I'm going to be continuing this log when we make camp.
Clutch Gumstone, audio log three.
we finally stopping me camp. Graybeak is currently sleeping like a... well like a
griffin I guess.
He certainly can fly when properly motivated. I guess finally being able to
get out of the contract he had with me was motivation enough.
Not that he has much to complain about. Over the past year i must have
paid him enough caps for him to start his own Clan! Although, I'm getting off topic. I shouldn't
be talking about a griffin, I should be talking about the Stable dweller.
I haven't met her yet
and I have been thinking so much but what she might be like
that I haven't been able to get to sleep!
At least, I certainly hope it's going to be a her.
Equestria hasn't been known for having very many strong stallion leaders.
Only thing that i could dig up on a strong stallion leader with rumors of some
Goldenblood character, but unless he has the ability to make ponies around him
suddenly stupid, I think those rumors were exaggerated over time.
Though, other than being a mare, I certainly hope this Stable dweller is a unicorn.
With all the hardships and problems on the wasteland, being able to levitate a gun,
or even a screwdriver, would definitely be an advantage over some earth pony.
Another minor hope is that she'll be attractive, and not for randy personal
reasons! It's just that a beautiful face is more likely to inspire and compel other
ponies to follow her cause.
Well, either way I'm going to find out tomorrow evening when I hopefully catch up with her.
I figure that she's going to be making her way to the ruined city of Camelton.
It's visible from where her Stable is, and it's pretty much the only place to go in that desert.
Gtimfeathers is going to be dropping me off a short distance away from her planed
trajectory, and then I'll be hoofing it towards for the rest the way.
I'm going to be wearing my trader disguise. So, from her point of view
it's just going to look like a coincidental meeting with a traveling trader name
Second Hoof. And no, I didn't come up with that name, it was a committee decision by
the Twilight Society.
I'll offer water, or ammunition, or whatever she needs, to ingratiate myself with her.
Then I'll travel on with her as she heads towards whatever destination it's,
hopefully down in history.
But for now, I need to be getting some sleep. Next time I'm making this recording
it will be after meeting the mare herself!
Clutch Gumstone, audio log four.
Well this certainly didn't go how I planed. well, I guess I should start
off with the good news, what little of it there is.
The motion tracker signal was of a Stable dweller leaving the Stable.
Not a false-positive, or something like that. And she is female, like I hoped for.
And that's about as far as my hopes got.
Now for the bad news
I'll start with the most apparent point,
that she's not a unicorn, she's an earth pony...
Wile an earth pony's extra strength and determination does have their uses, they
just are not as versatile as a unicorn is.
For example:
until we can get Rock a battle saddle, that's her name by the way, Rock Flower.
Until we can get her a battle saddle, she is restricted to use whatever weapon she
can stick in your mouth.
Not that it would do her much good, her survival skills seem to be almost nonexistent.
When I found her, she was dying from exposure, having just barely survived a
battle with rats. And I don't mean the giant mutant rat variety.
No, just normal cave rats.
I had to use up nearly all the healing items that i brought and most of the water
just to get her fit enough to travel.
But Equestria wouldn't be saved by just survival skills alone. No, the real key is
all that knowledge to wisdom from being brought up in that special Stable
environment, that would actually save the day.
Too bad for everypony else that she can't remember any of that!
She claims that some kind of memory spell had messed with her head. She says
that she could remember things but not stuff. Whatever that means. But so far, it
boils down to that she knows about fairies and ghosts, but has no idea what
a unicorn is...
And to top it all off, she is not even attractive. If you were being generous you
might call her handsome maybe. Or to be more blunt, if you trimmed off that puffy
white mane of hers, she would just look like a yellow colt.
Last but not least, there seems to have been some kind of traumatic experience in
her past. So, Yeah. It looks like I really lucked out of the first try!
