Hello, welcome back I'm Gala Gal Janelle, Janelle Taylor a certified Benefit Auctioneer
Specialist. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to talk about bachelor auctions. We are up
to key number nine, setting up your event on the night or the day of the auction. First
you will want to have some seated tables near the stage or near the front whether that is
a podium, a runway or ideally a stage. That raised area makes it easy for everyone to
see the bachelors and it also gives the bachelors a bit of feeling of being special or being
on display, which is what we want to promote. Next you might reserve some tables for group
ticket packages if different bachelors brought a table of 10 then they should all have a
reserved place to sit together. I guarantee you they will add energy to the auction. If
you have sponsors you may want to give sponsors a table near the front, because again they
paid money to support you. Now, I would put some high top tables just those round cocktail
tables out a little further back because that encourages people to lean and still stand
facing the stage. Next, the stage or the runway really is important for visibility and the
runway adds a very exciting and glamorous feel. So talk to your venue to see if there
is a possibility for such a thing. Next you want colorful bachelor details on display
in a prominently area. We have tried just simple plexi-glass signs that have bullet
points with the bachelors information that they filled out earlier on the questionnaire.
Let me show you an example. You might just use a simple colorful sign with the bachelor's
name and a few key points or maybe quotes. This is a great way to display information
that you will use later for the trivia game that we will talk about as an ice breaker.
Let me show you one other example. You might want to use a larger format with a color photo
of the bachelor and then include details on that as well. Finally, your decor depends
on your theme. You might be doing a Valentine bachelor auction or maybe Mardi-Gra or some
other. So you can always decorate your tables, your stage, or the surroundings with the decor
and theming if you would like. This will help you to prepare and set up on the day of your
bachelor auction.
