Interview of Châu Bell Dinh (co-founder of the Yamakasi)
International Parkour Instructor Seminar in August 2008 at Jyväskylä, Finland
How would you describe your parkour?
No, I don't do the parkour
I do the ADD, l'art du déplacement
How would you describe it?
describe it...
just for the story, we started together with David and Sebastian
and formed the group Yamakasi
we did l'art du déplacement
after David and Sebastian left the group
they wanted to, they created the parkour
but it's the same thing
ADD just behind it
in l'art du déplacement you have the values, the principle behind it
the human values
I want to protect l'art du déplacement
because we started together
do you want to give tips for traceurs all over the world?
I just want everybody to keep the good way all the time
the good things because this practise represents human values
everybody in each country we talk not the same language
but we talk the same things, we do the same things
I'm not alone when I'm training, I'm not alone
because I open my mind
I'm thinking the Portugal
I'm thinking the guys in Finland
I'm thinking the guys in Denmark
all groups and not just move alone
* * *
ADD is that, to share
to respect
to courage
strong men, strong women
strong spirit
thinking the family, big family
we know each others quite well
I think the skaters don't know each others so good as traceurs
yes, because in a small town, when we start the movement
all the time the people have little bit, I don't know
[people think] the french guy eats the cheese
he eat the bread all the time
it's the same
I live in the * * *, all the time
* * *
ah, the bad guys, they broke the car
the burned the car, all that
no, you have the good things in * * *
you have the good things everywhere
I want to show that
okay
the practise is just the movement
* * *
l'art du déplacement means art of movement
art of life
art of * * *
art of mind
open, be aware
just that
okay for you?
that's okay
thanks a lot
