Have you ever wondered what it truly takes to be healthy
in today's world of monumental stress and challenges?
And all those confusing choices that we're confronted with.
Well, Doctor Carol Roberts has graduated from Harvard
as well as University of Texas Medical School.
And now her book "Good Medicine: A Return To Common Sense",
can help us understand what choices are available to us,
and maybe some of the myths that are misleading us.
Can you help us with that?
Great question, Cheryl. Because that's the thing.
People manage stress in different ways.
From popping a pill, to going to a mountaintop and meditating. Anything.
So the mind goes to helping people become more self-sufficient.
And there are certain things that can be done, in practice,
that will really help in an emergency situation,
when stress builds to crisis proportions, which we all know it can.
We live in a distracting world, a world with tiny, tiny bites,
that grab our attention, and we're really not built like that.
We're built to have a center that's being right,
and we need to access that center on a regular basis.
So, if it's walks in nature that does it for you,
if it's playing with your dog, if it's artwork,
which is a wonderful stress reliever,
or if it's dancing or playing musical instruments,
or simply sitting quietly, listening to your own spirit,
and that's what I encourage.
And how about just your overall health?
What are some of the recommendations you might make,
to not only circumvent some of the health issues that come along with stress,
but just to increase that vitality that you're working with.
I would say the most important thing to move your body.
Your body's not made to cart your brain from one place to another,
it's a joyous thing that you inhabit for a lifetime.
Might as well enjoy it. So, if it's nesting that turns you on, do it!
if it's walking in the sun, or laying on the beach,
or wild and crazy sex, do it!
Have some fun with your body. Enjoy it. Get it hooved,
get it healthier by moving.
And then, add more vegetables, and you're good.
Wow. Very simple formula. And one that sounds like a lot of fun.
So, not only could you get healthier, and defeat stress,
but it seems like you could have a lot of fun,
living with Doctor Carol Roberts' recommendations.
