Hello! My name’s Susie and I’m 16.
And my name is Josh Burns and I’m 14 years old.
What it is, is that you get to go out places. Erm, like, erm, Falmouth, Truro, I go, we
go with some friends. And I go with my helper Jenny as well.
It’s a very, very good group, I think and, you know, it stops us from just, you know,
staying at home and feeling bored and doing nothing really, you know, stuck indoors 'cause,
like, you know, my mum doesn’t really go out too often, and, you know, reasons.
You know, and I like to go out.
It’s a what day?!
It’s a GOT day!
A what day?!
A GOT day!
Get out where?!
Get out there!
Where?!
Everywhere!
Get Out There has really make my life better and, kind of, less empty,
if you know what I mean?
'cause I’m not just stuck indoors all day and, I’ve got a brother as well, called Sam,
who’s autistic, he’s got a few problems – he’s blind, autistic, diabetic, all that
sort of thing – and, you know even he’s changing and everyone’s changing for the
better and everyone’s benefiting from it, I believe,
and I am really glad that the group was set up. I’m really enjoying it.

The three things I mostly enjoy is 1. the outings, 2. the fact that I can make friends,
and, you know, like, just hang out, and, you know, have fun through the freedom. You know,
obviously, within reason, but, you know, you can do almost whatever you like, you know there’s
no rules, no regulations, not really, you know, it’s just, just a fun day. You know,
and it’s just really nice, 'cause I’m the sort of person that does not like rules and
regulations, I really don’t, you know, if they haven’t got a reason behind it, a rational
reason, then I don’t like it and, you know, Get Out There just isn’t like that. It’s
a fun group where we can go out, have fun, you know, hang out with our mates and generally
have a good time.
I enjoy seeing all my mates because I’ve missed them.
And quite a lot of the time when I’m here I talk about my mates.
And before the group was set up I was only seeing my mates
in school and in the taxi. I think not being with mum and dad all the time has made
me, made me chat to my friends a bit more.
I’ll be completely honest here. When I’m at home I’m usually stomping around the
house saying I’m bored, I’m bored, I’m bored and I think, well, I wish there, I wish
there was a Get Out There today. I’m bored, don’t know what to do,
so I just end up sleeping.
