Maria Bonomi is an artist that in the beginning of
her route
starts with the engraving, with woodcut
It’s interesting that Maria Bonomi
has a saying that is "engravings are not a drawing"
Because in the moment you are printmaking
You have an intention, but the wood can
bring another result.
She starts with the engraving in big proportions
Until the 60's, so she comes on a pace
but since then she starts working on these big
proportions’ engravings
And also with public art
So Maria Bonomi has some works spread
around São Paulo city, including Jardim São Paulo,
Paulista Avenue and Luz station.
