May 20 1957, Andy Williams goes to No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Butterfly,"
his only UK No.1 and the first of his 40 hit singles from 1957 until 2002 on the UK chart.
May 21 2011, Adele goes to No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Rolling In The Deep',
taken from her second studio album, 21. The video to the song was nominated for seven
MTV Video Music Awards nominations. 'Rolling in the Deep' was also the Billboard Year End
Hot 100 Number One Single of 2011 and the song received three Grammy Awards.
Adele had it all.
May 22 2003, A new model of J.Lo was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London. The sculptor
used a special block of wax and created Jenny From The Block.
May 23 1973, San Francisco authorities passed a resolution banning electronically amplified
instruments in Golden Gate Park, preventing Jefferson Airplane from giving a free concert there
The group later wrote 'We Built this City' about the ban.
