JOE WILES: In this video, we're going to take a look at number 53, which is the Foo Fighters'
"Stranger Things Have Happened." Grab you acoustic guitars and let's go. Now, for this
pattern, it's a finger picking pattern. I'm going to use these three fingers here, okay?
Now, the first bit, we're going to do the--we're going to put our ring finger on the 2nd fret
of the A string, our pinky on the 2nd fret of the G string, and our middle finger on
the 2nd fret of the D string, okay? We're going to be lifting this middle finger up
and down for a bit, okay? Now, on the right hand, we're going to be hitting the--the thumb
is going to be assigned to the A string and your index and middle fingers going to be
assigned to the D and G strings, use these 3 strings. We're going to hit that lowest
note twice and answer with your finger off. Okay? Again. Then, use our thumb here, open that A string
up, bring this finger down to the 2nd fret of the low E string, hit it three times, do
the same answer. Use your index finger on the 1st fret on the low E string, and then
hit the low E string open, and then come to that same answer, then there's a hammer-on riff. We're going
to hit the A string open, hammer-on to the 2nd fret with our ring finger, then hit our
open D string, and repeat. Slowly, it sounds like this. And to speed, that same riff sounds
like this. I hope you'll join us for the next segment. We're going to take a look at "Voodoo
Child" by Jimi Hendrix. I'll see you there.
