Hi my name is Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village here to talk about cheerleading stunts.
Now that we've learned stunts, when do we use them in cheerleading? Now the answer is
really really wide and open to whenever you want to use them. They can be used during
a cheer. They can be used during a thirty second or a full time out. And most importantly,
you're going to want to be using these stunts if you're doing a half time show or if you're
doing a competition routine. Stunts can also be used as transition methods, which comes
in handy if you want to do something neater than just walking around from spot to spot.
We can get into a stunt, our bases can move the stunts together to form a pyramid, you
can move back to get into a position to a cheer; it's just a really interesting way
to move. Another cool thing to do with your stunts is to spin them. That's a good way
to get into a different position to change formations. In cheerleading, we're always
in formations. Stunting just makes it a lot interesting. Another thing you can do with
your stunts is hold up signs once you're in the air, which is really cool for the crowd,
because if they're in bleachers, you're going to be eye level with them. So once you're
flier is securely up in the air, you can have the spotter hand them signs. You can also
have them have footballs and candy to throw to the crowd. The signs are a really cool
way to incorporate the crowd, especially when you're really up high in the air like that,
and everybody loves it. So definitely use your stunts as much as possible.
