Hi Folks I am Terry Trippler
This is Thursday Feb. 5th and this is my view.
There has been a lot of discussion over the passenger bill of rights
Particularily about the long tarmac delays and recently about illness
That if someone should become ill onboard what are the procedures
what are they going to do could someone actually die on board
Well short of a massive coronary I seriously think not.
You know I don't have any knowledge or any experience of what would happen on the ground
But I certainly have personal experience of how it is handled in the air
We left detroit on the way to Mpls/St. Paul and I wasn't feeling well
as a coronary patient I knew I was having a coronary problem. I took nitro tablet. thinking it would go away it didn't
In fact it got worse I could tell we were probably over Wisconsin when I asked
the flight attendant how long till we land in Minneapolis. She went to the
cockpit and came back and due to very heavy airtraffic with rain and fog it would be 45 min.
I told her I would like to request an ambulance meet me at the gate because I was having a coronary problem.
the flight attendant left went up to the cockpit and came back and said we will be on the ground in 20 min.
The airtraffic is clearing all traffic and we are going straight in.
we did go straight in we were on the ground in a little less than 20 minutes
and within 30 min I was in an ambulance on my way to the hospital
So I would of expected that if I had a similar situation occure to me on the tarmac
so how did the airline people and airtraffic people handle it in the air 22 00:01:52,940 -->00:01:58,378 Perfect and how would they handle it on the ground I would expect nothing less
