Hello, welcome to this Load2Learn training video.
In this video we will have a look at how to identify which version of Microsoft Word you
are using.
There are three versions currently used by many people.
There is Word 2003, Word 2007 and Word 2010.
You can tell you’re using Word 2003 at a glance by the fact that you have menus at
the top of the screen.
If you want to confirm you simply click on the help menu, click about Microsoft Word
and then you are given the exact version of the software you are using.
As you will see Word 2007 and Word 2010 are different because they no longer use the menus
but they use ribbons with icons on them instead.
You can tell pretty much immediately that you’re using Word 2007 just by looking at
it because it has a distinctive ribbon interface.
If you want to make sure exactly which version you have you simply click on the top left
button which some people have called the pizza box and click on Word options here.
And under resources here at the bottom you will see about Microsoft Office Word 2007
and you see exactly that you have Word 2007 version 12.0 and so on.
You can tell pretty much immediately if you’re using 2010 instead of word 2007.
In the top left hand corner where there used to be a button that some people used to call
the pizza, there is file menu and other people have called that the pizza box.
If you want to confirm your version click on the file menu and then click on the help.
And then in the right hand pane you will see the version of Office you have.
Then click on the file menu again to return to your document.
