Creating tool path quickly and accurately is not enough to manufacture a part. Not in today's world of manufacturing.
In fact you also need to create good quality setup sheets quickly and efficiently.
In TopSolid 7, this has been made to be drag and drop simple.
All you need to do is to the template; drag and drop your cam file right into that template, and TopSolid 7 does the rest.
Let's have a look at how this works.
To begin with, we are going to start by opening an existing template.
Then we are going to tile our windows so we can see both our cam file and our three template files that we are going to use.
To begin with we will start by creating an operation table. So we will grab our cam file out of our project manager,
and drag and drop it right into that file. And as you can see TopSolid does all the hard work and propagates all the information for you.
Let's do that one more time.
Drag it in, and like that our tool sheet is complete.
Now let's see what happens if we make a change to our cam file. For example let's add a new tool path with a new tool.
We will select the geometry to cut;
we will go ahead and select our new tool;
and we will validate.
And from here you can see in the right that the setup sheet automatically and instantly is updated.
Very, very cool!
Let's have a little bit closer look at some of these setup sheets.
Here you see an operation table that outlines every step taken.
Next we will see a table and sheet. And this is a combination table plus on sheet number two, a tooling list; just a basic one.
In the tooling sheet sample,
you can see a more detailed view of your tooling including what the tool number is, how many teeth, what the corner radius is of the cutter.
You see it all. And the best part about these setup sheets is they are 100% customizable by you.
Let's have a quick sample of this.
Here let's say that we want to change the view.
As you can see, we are just dynamically rotating that view and now we'll change its scale as well so that we can see a little bit better.
Perfect like that we will validate.
Let's maybe do that again.
Let's go ahead and change this view.
Maybe on this one we just want to change the scale.
Perfect!
And like that, our changes are done. And now we just hit print, and our setup sheets are sent to our printer.
