[sounds of clicking, waves crashing]
Steve: Welcome to the director's commentary on
"Waves on a Beach." I'm Steve Willis, the director
and I have with me Marianne Cirque du Soleil.
Marianne helped produce this shoot Marianne: Right, I believe we were
on a, we were at Sandals. Steve: Yeah we were at the pool...
Marianne: Uh huh! And I said let's go to the beach. Steve: And I was like, wow.
Instead of going to the beach let's just, I wish I could just look at it on my phone.
Marianne: Right, that's where the idea came from and wham bam, Steve: Let's go to the room and
Marianne: Yeah and about, you know, a few weeks later
we had it all done, edited, shot and it was
it was a wild success Steve: And we're worried about like how long it should be
Marianne: Right, I thought, "How long do I want to sit and stare at a screen?"
and the number I came up with was four hours.
Steve: Yeah. And you know I wanted to pick a frame that
included the horizon but really
focused on waves on the beach. Marianne: Which is
how we came up with the title. Steve: Yeah
Marianne: Waves on beach Steve: Yeah. Marianne: We did go over budget, that was disappointing
once we reached six figures I was like what are we gonna do?
Steve: Wow, oh I didn't know that. Marianne: Yeah it's the insider scoop.
Steve: Post Marianne: Yeah it was all about post. They had to
do so many massive edits. Yeah, so um
we're gonna have additional footage of the paperwork that we used for this
if you click the link Steve: Yeah that's a good idea. Marianne: I know it comes with it.
And I just hope you enjoyed our video, Waves on Beach.
Let's go get a cocktail. Steve: Another.
