Tonight we're introducing
you to a young designer
from East Honolulu diving
in to the alluring market
head first.
It's part of our special
series highlighting
Hawaii's fashion scene
leading up to Hawaii
Fashion Month in
November. KITV-4's
Moanike'ala Nabarro has
more...
From beckoning bikinis to
high end one sies, local
company
Meegan Elizabeth Hawai'i
is spicing up the
swimwear scene.
15:09-15:18 I THINK
THE WOMEN THAT WEAR MY
LINE THEY WANT TO FEEL
SEXY AND SOPHISTICATE D
BUT THEY ALSO WANT TO
HAVE A FUNCTIONAL SUIT
FOR WHEN THEY WANT TO GO
OUT AND PLAY AND HAVE FUN
Designer Meegan Elizabeth
Dritmeier launched her
luxury swim wear line in
2011, selling her designs
at pop up venues around
town. Just this year, a
HUGE break. Driftmeir's
line hit the runway at
Mercedes Benz Fashion
week in Miami this past
June. 18:42-

ROOM, IT WAS PERFECT FOR
JUST STARTING OUT Meegan
is no stranger to the
runway. SHE was a model
for years. But her
appetite for fashion
design started at a young
age, her mom designed
costumes in the theater.
16:29- 16:35 I CAME TO MY
MOM AND SAID WE'RE GOING
TO START A BUSINESS,
YOU'RE GOING TO SEW AND
I'M GONIG TO DESIGN..AND
SHE SAID NO! YOU'RE GOING
TO LEARN TO SEW! AND I
DID! These days Meegan's
tailoring can't keep up
with demand--- so like
all the big fashion
houses do, orders go
straight to the
manufacturer.
14:48-1459 I REALLY
LOVE MY HIGH WAISTED ROLL
DOWN, YOU CAN WEAR IT
WHEN YOU'RE PADDLING OUT,
AND YOU CAN ROLL DOWN AND
TAN YOUR STOMACH TOO SO
THAT'S AWESOME

I WANNA DO, MORE THINGS
ON THE PLATE FOR MY LINE,
AND I DONT' WANT TO GIVE
IT AWAY BECAUSE IT WONT
BE A SURPRISE FOR
EVERYONE Moanikeala
