"To the sea with the smell of pine" /around Halkidiki, Sithonia/
This time we are nearby and unlike any other time,
in Thessaloniki we take the southeast - to the middle peninsula of Chalkidiki - Sithonia.
While enjoying the sea on the right and the pine groves left
and here we are at the "Olympic" hotel, 5-6 kilometers from the Nikiti town.
We didn't understand what exactly is the Olympic here,
but it is typical family hotel as most hotels here,
its main guests are Bulgarians, Serbs and Romanians.
Here's our balcony, where talking "Calimera" with staff,
Bulgarians don't greet here as usual.
We check in quickly and take to the nearest beach -
Agios Kovios with great sand, though mixed with small pebbles.
According to the experience of the Greeks with Bulgarian tourists, sunbeds are locked
for umbrellas and key is given to the hotel reception. These here must be ours, Rossi, run to get the key!
There is no one to tell us the password for the internet,
so we read electronic books, smear ourselves and keep out of the sun.
Going home at sunset, but now we've pointed wonderful bay nearby for tomorrow.
The water is crystal, only now we understand why this sea is called "White" and our - "Black" -
there isn't drains from mega-giga-terra castle-like hotels in our country
which is poured into the sea.
The bay can be reached on foot in five minutes,
much bigger and more beautiful, however.
Our place is at Akti Kalugrias' northern end - next to the bar Isla.
Rada, thanks a lot for your recommendations to visit this beautiful bay.
Pines are by the sea and their flavor in the afternoon outweighs
the smell of salt and sea.
A similar dark green, white and turquoise blue coastline
can be seen only here and may be in the Pacific atolls.
At Isla bar against one frappe or beer, cola, lemonade, etc.
you can get sunbeds and umbrella for the whole day,
the music is great and the internet - pretty fast for Greek standards.
We liked this bay very much so we stayed
at this half-empty beach here two days we had available.
For the first time we visit Halkidiki, but will definitely come back here.
Not only because it is closer to Sofia than our Black Sea coast,
but because the last one with its crowded and dirty beaches,
disgusting service and overbuilding already it is not a place for relaxation at all.
At the evening we skip to Nikiti town.
It resembles to the Kiten town during seventies and as over the Greek coast
more than two stories are the exception, but Bulgarian speech definitely predominant.
We do a tour for applause around the harbor,
where the most expensive yacht had a Bulgarian flag
and go to the tavern to eat fish. Not very cheap, but the fish
is fresh, local and real.
Our weekend tourism, extended by one day because of the Unification of Bulgaria
is ending and we are going for 2 hours at last swimming
at closest to the hotel beach - Agios Kovios.
If we only knew what a traffic jam is waiting us in Blagoevgrad at the way back
we might spend the afternoon and the beach here with the luggage in the car.
We all liked our stay and we will surely come back,
maybe with a company for marine barbecue.
It is worth - exclusive Sithonia's blend aroma
of the sea and pine charges you with a lot of positive energy.
Goodbye, Halkidiki and we hope - until recently!
closer, shorter, better
We enjoyed, and you?
you know the cameraman, the director, etc.
Logistics: own 17 years old "Opel"
No producer, professional photos - you also know... Just wait a minute
Bulgarians are crawling everywhere in Sithonia,
which is suitable for families with young children
and this way leads to the best beach in Sithonia,
where you can measure your step with gulls,
while admiring the sea through a sea of oleander.
This "pine phallus" points to our Black Sea coast,
because here even a frappe will offer you with a smile,
and islands tempt your shipwreck spirit,
until a yacht with a mermaid comes to save you.
From here we observed the most beautiful sunsets,
at all, three of us spent a wonderful time,
and we'll come back to see more of these sunsets -
"The more - the more"
Solar kisses from Hipodruma Pictures!
