so this is an and just making this short
screen capture
uh...
screencast
to explained my project for my class
so basically i'm working with four students this summer
uh... they're all students that i've had i had last year in class
uh... one is the s_l_ student
one is as dealing with the nineteen
one is a student who
has had math and reading intervention
uh... and then one is why i would call a bubble student
which means he's right on the edge of
maybe this evening interventions but he hasn't qualified yet
so he needs a little extra help
uh... all four students had struggled with telling time
and um... i really think that they will need to back up in look at the
conceptual
understandings that telling time
and so
gate com designed course in their districts learning management system and
it's called math practice skills telling time
and uh... i'm really new at doing this entire district just adopted the sound
kind of experimenting with it too
so it's probably not perfect
uh... see the first thing they wanted to do is is during the introduction to the
courts
and say this is introduction telling timing analog and digital
in in this introduction i have
uh... the first full day which is an interdiction to telling time
but then also included extra practice sheet settled like if these kids for me
to get on at home
they could go into this
folder
they
could find
to different websites that are clock generator websites for practicing
telling time
another thing is is that
since these kids struggle and i've really wanted them to have an image
associated with the text
certificate it would help them decode the text um... because they all
struggle with reading as well
so if you going to this folder
you can click on this
uh... clock worksheet maker and this is math fact cafe
and the great thing about this thomas is it just closed the website radiant said
they could start generating
their own
depending on what skill they might need or their parents could do that for them
and that was math at cafe
if you go back
too
uthis when this is called the math worksheet site
units also caught generator
i like it better for writing neons on the clock
said this morning
choose what
they want practice it's a little bit more
targeted to because a lot of kids struggle with
telling time to fifty five and fifty seemed good
worksheets just
anyway so those are just extra sheets
and insight callback uh...
to the introduction to the course
an introduction to telling time
uh... again i tried to put a visual image with everything
justice issue text settings
kids because they are
they also traveled decoding and
and with the reading skills
anyway this is they have extensive induction the first thing that they
would do
this is just to stimulate her thinking about telling time in why telling time is
important
anything for these kids
teams we really need to understand what's the purpose of this uh...
wainwright by ninety minutes
and why am I doing this
they might think that they just have to do it but
they don't know why
said the first thing they need to use their you know watch somebody reading
the Grouchy Ladybug
by eric carle which is a book all about early developing at certain times does
certain things
arms so that people separate utube video
facing an ad first
town and that's it
care
adn girl
it's too bad
and our district allos
uh... you too
sending
this is the someone reading the catching ladybug
and it's all about the lied about going
certain places and times
so it connects to literature peace
and when do you think i could have recorded my
president clinton's
i could have made by with the p_l_o_
com
but his answers argued this video on
u_-two right i think it not
to reinvent the wheel
also
i guess they could have asked them to read a book on their own and then
come back and report on it
again these kids can struggle with reading
especially making is located would not be able to bring this or maybe
understand the vocabulary
in the text to having and read out loud to them is very helpful
amendment two dollars
revisit the tax on their own after knowing the story
andreen reading
uh... to kind of scaffold their understanding of the story
so that they may be done
watching this video about the Grouchy Ladybug
uh... they go back
any
till it is certainly
this is not an assessment this is kind of just
and stimulating thinking about
about
telling time
soweto mainly in reduction which this is not the student be at this is exceeding
administrator view
go to this
what they'll see is this clock concede this question why we'd need to tell
timewise important
anything for the struggling students do you really need a incur that to like
this is a skill that i need to happen
stc
dcd
accident
sale for each
question i put it a little um... recording of what
the question
was
because they struggle with the reading
uh... to kenya um... make this a little bit this
serve a little bit more accessible to them
madsen's this um...
surveys already been started
it's a little hard to show it to you but he said it looks like
so... the first question anchors back to the Grouchy Ladybug
um... winds sometimes point indicative eighty five
may prevent image of the criteria but there
give them more context for the past twister
electric explain
for each question interdependent
said that they can infer that question
to uh... context and help decoding
today missus in carrying
talent and too their life
and then this is
talking about who
might tell time
in their life
besides themselves
bite
day of the people
all right
and then there's the
the big question which is why installing ten point
but you know uh... with a lot of these things that make them amparo
but if they had to tell i'm younger child while you've been there can it's
going to be more
thoughtful answer
still like to say that the committee tell tina turner white most important
because all the students to come get their trade
sarah victor
cell anyway this is just trying to get them into non-farm time tegnander
standby time comes in part
in expired at work
