Hi! My name is Dan and I’m here with Expert Village. Right now we’re going to talk about
one aspect of feeding your fire. That is when placing logs on it, you want to place them
facing toward the center of the fire. The reason for this being is once they start to
burn down you can push the log into the fire without having to roll it, thus keeping yourself
further away from the flames. Again, as always having a good leather mitt is nice, because
even if you come in close proximity of the fire, you won’t burn your hand of your clothing.
This is especially true when your fire is getting larger and you have bigger logs, which
are harder to manipulate. Also, having them in the center of the fire leaning on each
other will prevent them from rolling away. That’s one thing to think about when feeding
your fire, is how you place the logs on top of the flame.
