Telehealth video conferencing offers real benefits to everyone involved.
If you are one of the 65% of Australians in remote, regional and outer metropolitan areas
you can now access secure, private video consultations with a range of medical specialists when you
need it most.
You save both time and money, with lower travel costs, less time off work and better continuity
of care. While video conferencing will never replace face to face consultations, in some
circumstances it can be an acceptable substitute.
Your GP will provide the initial referral, and offer clinical support while you participate
in a video consult with a Specialist which may be in your GPs rooms, at a dedicated video-conference
facility or, if you have a suitable computer and broadband Internet, in the privacy of
your own home. Your GP and treating Specialist will be able to advise you.
Please note that your treating Specialist may advise you of the need for a face to face
consultation.
While each doctor or health worker involved in the video consultation will bill separately,
you will receive a higher Medicare rebate compared to that of a traditional face to
face consultation.
If your GP is registered with our site they can make the booking on your behalf, but you
will still need to register with us as a Patient. You can do this simply by clicking on this
button on the GP2U Home Page, or your GP may choose to send you and invitation.
If your GP is not registered, please direct them to gp2u.com.au.
After you Register, provided you have a valid referral from your GP, you can even book appointments
with your specialist yourself.
Once you have made a booking, you are ready to consult with a specialist from the comfort
of your own home or your doctor’s rooms. It really is that easy.
