Hi I am Yolanda Vanveen on behalf of Expert Village. Tritonia is another South African
flower that I just love in my garden. It grows like a crocosmia or a freesia and it is of
the iris family. They call it blazing star as well sometimes and they just have little
pink flowers on them that are just delightful. The bulbs of the plants are very tiny. You
can barely even find them sometimes but they are just a little form and there is a side
with a shooter and eye and that goes up or you can go sideways with them. You only need
to plant them one or two inches deep and they are not really a big flower. They just kind
of are dainty, wispy iris plant that blooms in the summer. They are not really hardy in
the Northwest. Sometimes I will lose them in the winter so I usually bring them in whether
they are in the ground or in the container so I enjoy them when summer comes. Next we
will cap up our talk on summer blooming flower bulbs.
