As you can see I have started out our bead with a basic tube of ivory glass and I have
been heating up some copper greens in the background. Again I am just going to apply
it randomly
and we are going to do a little bit of color mixture on this one swirling the copper green
and the ivory together in order to get some effects. I am not really concerned about the
shaping right now because I am going to go back in and do some final shaping with the
bead. We are going to do a lot of steps in between so we are not going to worry so much
about the shape but we do want to keep it balanced and symmetrical on the mandrel to
make sure it isn't heavy on one side or the other. So we have got some copper green and
some ivory and I am going to go back in with some ivory and I am going to use the ivory
glass to kind of cover the copper green glass again totally random, no rhyme or reason,
I really love playing with glass this way because you get to see some of the color reactions
that you don't normally get to see when you are being more controlled when you work. Of
course the hard part is remembering those reactions and how exactly you arrived at that
effect. So what we are going to do is we are going to melt this in to a smooth bead, I
am going to turn up my flame a little bit more to do that. I am not going to worry about
shaping I am just going to worry about melting just so that it is all flush and even. I am
going to continue to do this for just a few more seconds and then we will go back in and
we will pick up some silver foil.
