Hi everybody! My name is Troy Rosasco, I'm with the law firm
Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco, and we are New York
disability lawyers. I'm going to talk to you today about what a
full service law firm will do for you regarding your
disability cases. Here, at Turley, Redmond, Rosasco &
Rosasco, we do both worker's compensation, social security
disability, long term disability, and 9/11 victims'
compensation fund claims. The fact of the matter is you may
have a combination of all those claims. Why go to four separate
lawyers, when you can go to one lawyer, and get all your claims
coordinated? It's very important to coordinate all your claims,
and quite frankly, it will cost you less in costs down the road.
We only have to get the medicals once, for all your claims, while
as four lawyers will charge you for getting the medical records
four separate times. It just doesn't make any sense. In
addition, there's strategies. I'll give you a perfect example.
Under social security we need to prove you're disabled. Okay? You
may have a combination of problems. You may have a
combination of an orthopedic problem, and a mental or
psychological problem. But, if you also have a long term
disability claim I'm going to emphasize that orthopedic
problem in my social security claim. In fact, I might not even
mention your mental or nervous disorder in the social security
claim, because I don't want the long term disability carrier
coming back and cutting your benefits at twenty-four months -
like they normally do - for mental and nervous disabilities.
So, not only is there benefit to coordination of all the
claims, there's a benefit, strategically, in how you get
all these claims put together. Now, sometimes when we're able
to put all four claims together, and get them working well, it
really is in the best interest of our clients. They really see
the results of all these things working for them. And, at the
end of the day, we're able to maximize your pre-disability
income. And isn't that really what you need? You need to take
a look at where you were before you became disabled financially
and try to maximize whatever funds you can get now as a
result of your disability - to keep your standard of living.
