Heart disease and stroke are leading causes of death
for all Americans, including Hispanics.
CDC's Million Hearts initiative will prevent 1 million heart
attacks and strokes.
We recently asked Hispanics about things
that affect their heart health.
We found that they're less likely
to have ideal heart health.
Less likely to take blood pressure medicine.
And we found that this may explain why they're less likely
to have their blood pressure under control.
If you have high blood pressure,
work with your doctor to get it controlled.
If it's not under control, you're at a much higher risk
of heart attack or stroke.
You can reduce this risk By taking an aspirin
if your doctor says it will help your heart.
Controlling your blood pressure.
Keeping it below 140 over 90.
Managing your cholesterol, and not using tobacco .
At CDC, we are pleased to announce many new materials
and a website in Spanish
that can help you improve your heart health.
Take care of your heart.
Do it for yourself, and for your family.
They need you healthy!
