The last snare comping pattern that I'm going to show you is just playing the last piece
of every triplet; one, and a two, and a three, and a four, and a one, and a two, and a three,
and a four, and a one. So this is using the snare here, playing the last note there, along
with our jazz ride pattern. This is going to be, again, one of the staples of jazz.
If you can, you've got to get this pattern down. It's going to enable your facility to
play any pattern you want. The other things we're going to look at next are adding the
bass drum regularly, and this idea of feathering the bass drum. But also, the fact that we
can move these patterns around to the toms and to other instruments on the, on the drum
set, to give us an even bigger variety of sound, still playing really basic patterns
on the snare.
