On August 7, The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) State Internet Information Office released ten rules for WeChat.
WeChat is online chat software which is now told not to publish or reprint politically related news.
They also want to have a real-name identification system for WeChat which caused mainland netizens to react.
Mainland netizens believe it’s a shackle for WeChat and shows the CCP’s speech censoring is more severe.
Mainland lawyer Yang Zexin told Radio Free Asia that such rules are against the CCP’s own constitution. They deprive citizens of their rights to know.
Thank you for watching.
