Give it up for Robin Thicke, and Miley Cyrus!
"And we can't stop, and we won't stop"
"Blurred Lines, I know you want it"
I know you want it, I know you..."
"Boom boom boom baby, got that Super Bass"
boom boom boom baby, yea that's that SuperBass"
"I'm sexy and I know it"
"I'm sexy and I know it"
"Don't stop, make it pop, Dj blow my speakers up"
"Tonight Imma fight, till we see the sunlight"
"Last Friday night, yea we maxed our credit cards"
"and got kicked out of the bar"
"so we hit the boulevard, Last Friday night!"
"I gotta feelin, fill up my cup, Mazeltov"

Hey guys, I'll be your host P-dog
Let's find out what some of these students think of pop music.
"And we can't stop, and we won't stop"
Let's see what kind of action we get over here
"Don't take nothin from nobody" "Its our party we can do what we want, its
our party we can say what we want, its our party we can go where we want, kiss who we
want, screw who we want, to my home girls here with the big butt"
I really love the 20/20 Experience album by Justin Timberlake, the whole, the whole thing,
Strawberry Bubblegum is really good
Applause by Lady Gaga, and just cuz its catchy
and because who doesn't like Lady Gaga
I'd say Royals by Lorde
"We like to party, dancin' with Molly"
Yea I'd say yes, I think a lot of people listen to what's catchy and don't really pay attention
to the depth, the complexity of the music, and I think pop music lacks both of them
So do you think pop music is making us stupid No I don't, I think people have been saying
this about Pop music for like ages and ages and ages
I don't see any reason to believe that Pop music is a more radical change in music than
things that have occurred in the past, like the invention of rap and before that the invention
of rock and before that the invention of jazz
Is there any Pop music you like or?
Yea, oh yea definitely a little bit, I mean you can't really help yourself, but
And I think that there is like, certain like things that like we repeat um that make our
brains feel good before that rythym and blues and all the way
back to Bethoven who was this radical kind of guy, I don't see any reason to necessarily
believe that new innovations in music our making us stupid, I mean things like this
have been said for a long time I think that's like kind of classist and arbitrary
distinction, I don't think its making us stupid Do you like pop music?
um, not particularly I don't think Pop music is making people stupid,
but I do think that it is neither associated with or prompting useful thought
Alright, do you like pop music, any pop song that you like?
Not really
So do I think Pop music is making us stupid?
Well... (fast forward talking)
Or, maybe, but at least its a lot of fun
"And we can't stop"
"And we can't stop, and we won't stop"
"can't you see its we who own the night"
can't you see its we who about that life, and we can't stop"
stop, and we won't stop"
