You guys have like a lot of reoccurring
fashionistas
that, celebrities, that are on your guys' blog. Some of them I discovered through your guys' blog, like
um, what's her name... Jaleesa? >>Oh! Jameela! Yeah. Yeah. Jameela!
She's very funny on Twitter, as well, by the way. >>She is so cute!
And I didn't know who she was until you guys. So...
We love those British girls. They take more risks
They do, huh? >>It's like, there's like a little quirkiness, there's a little
playfulness, there's, uh... there's obviously more risk taking in general.
I think with both
British celebrities... just British celebrities in general.
What is like a
risk outfit? Like, how would you
classify an outfit to be "risky"?
It depends. >>I mean, it could be bright colors, um, you know, it could be sort of like a
an offbeat pair of shoes that's maybe a patent leather, even though you're not
going to something black tie... >>Right, right. A bow tie, um... or
Short shorts.
(laughing)
Or short shorts. >>Some guys, some guys they, you know, wear like the really short shorts cause >>It's true. I have to say I do like sort
of the more European slim, like swim trunk, which I think is nice. >>For men?
Really >>Yes.
I gotta think about that. >>I know, I wasn't entirely sure about it at first. At first I was like
Ooh, is this a little too 80s? >>The "mankini"?
Exactly, but you know it's, it's still like there's coverage. >>They're not that short. They're just not like the oversized board shorts.
They're like mid-thigh. They're relatively slim, but they're not tight
at all.
Interesting. >>Now what about the shorter shorts, just like in everyday fashion?
I was in New York and I saw this man wearing the most amazing, like pinstriped
like searsucker shorts suit. It was, you know, a longer, a longer short
It was like to the knee.
And he looked so dapper, and so cute, and he had on pink socks, and I was just like "yes."
I like everything about it. >>It's how you wear it. Maybe it's how you wear it. >>Exactly. It's like, you know, putting it in perhaps a little
slightly more formal context.
I mean, I always love a peplum.
I'm such a girly girl, so... >>I love all the peplum tops, too, cause it's like a little ruffle
before they go slim. >>It poofs
and then goes skinny underneath. >>They're very forgiving on the waistline... ok, I gotcha. You can eat in them.
I think it's something that it's also that really flattering on most women, really
easy to wear. You know you can have a dress or a skirt that's like that, but also, there's so many
jackets and blouses, and jackets and tops that involve that dramatic
jacket flare. It's just, it's sort of... I don't know, it just feels very, like...
It just feels very chic to me. >>I'm very into white shoes, too. Which can be hard to pull off.
Especially at like a lower price point, but we just, um, are
doing a story on the site
Um, all about kind of affordable white shoes and I love, kind of like a
pointy toe, white pump.
I think I know... I think there's one person who we feel somewhat mutual on. I mean, there are lots
of great people, but
Diane Kruger is one for me. >>Yeah, she looks great, I think whether it's
on the red carpet or even just kind of walking on the street. >>You know, she does her own hair and makeup
for a lot of things
which I think is kind of cool.
Yeah, I do think that's cool. >>Not usual. Definitely. Was it one of you that had a
Lucille Ball obsession? Did I imagine that? >>No... I used to love, well I still do. Um, but, yeah. I love Lucy.
Didn't you dye your hair? I read somewhere that you dyed your hair. >>Yes, I was red... I started putting henna on my hair from the time I was like 12 on.
And stopped about 20. I, um, ended up kind of going back to my natural color, which is
what this is, but just about two years ago, was it? I dyed it red again, and it's so fun. And I love it, but it is
so hard to maintain. >>But everyone loves a ginger!
Yeah >>Everyone loves a ginger. But it took me that long to get it back to this. That's the only
thing about going red, is that it's super hard to get out.
Oh, it's damaging... >>And it's also, like, I was at the hair salon
like once a week either doing roots, or kind of refreshing it, because
you become "red-orexic." Like, it's never red enough for you, you know? (laughter)
Turn into a "henna-rencess" Yes, darling... (laughter) >>Yes, exactly. I was thinking about turning to henna. >>That's even
harder to get out, though,
Really? >>Cause it really just changes your hair. I mean, you essentially have to dye it out... >>Cut it off Dye it, or
grow it out. Yeah. >>Oh, really? I'll cut it off for you! >>So it's like permanent, permanent I'll cut it off for you! Shave it! >>You're not...
Shave it, boo. Just let me shave it! >>Nope! (laughter)
