This is Dr. B. Let's find the molecular weight for calcium chloride (CaCl2).
First let's make sure we have the right formula. So we have plus two for calcium (Ca)
can group to and then chlorine is minus one. So I do need two of these to balance out
that plus two charge.
And over here I have that so that looks good.
So we have the correct formula and let's look on the periodic table can calculate
the molecular weight.
Calcium his 40.08 grams per mole.
And then we'll have the chlorine (Cl)
to that. Ad chlorine is 35.45 grams per mole.
But we have
two chlorines so we're gonna need to multiply that by two.
So we have 40.08
plus two times 35.45 ... 70.90.
And if we have those up we have 110.98 grams per mole.
And that
is the molecular weight for calcium chloride (CaCl2).
This is Dr. B. and thanks for watching.
