GRACE FRAGA: Okay. So we picked a nice blue, light blue, for this green T-shirt. And Chantelle
is going to teach me and you how to paint on the T-shirt. So let' get cracking. CHANTELLE
TIBBS: All right. Well, now we have to gather our supplies. Just like anything crafty, we
gotta get all of our supplies. You want to make sure that you have a T-shirt you're going
to print on. You want to make sure that you have whatever paint you've chosen. We didn't
choose black. Let me pick this up 'cause it's right here. You want to make sure you have
the sponges so you can apply the paint. We're going to hand paint today. Okay, your next
most important supply is your brush. Now, since we're not doing the stenciling which
you would most need these sponges for, we're going to use brushes, fine-point brushes.
Now, I'm using a fine-point brush because that's usually the design that I use. I always
use fine-point brushes. If you have large areas of space where you need to color in
or paint in or fill it with paint, you're going to want a wider brush or you can actually
go back to the sponges. So, it depends on what design, what you're planning on designing.
GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: So, you'll know by the strokes that you need and the
design. GRACE FRAGA: Great. So, what number? Is there a particular number of brush that
we need to use that you recommend? CHANTELLE TIBBS: The different brush company is they
do different things. I actually--I don't really read numbers. I just look and I can tell by
looking at the bottom of it with what I need. So, yeah. GRACE FRAGA: So, just like a medium
brush would do. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Uh-huh. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. Great. CHANTELLE TIBBS: I have
a fine point and I have like a semi-fine point today. I usually--I don't really stray from
that. GRACE FRAGA: I want to use the sponge [OVERLAPPING]. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Oh, sure.
So then you have that. You have your cup of water. Of course, it's going to be really
important this time to make sure you're cleaning off your brushes. You don't--a cup of water,
there's also a brush cleaner. You don't--whatever you do, you don't want to have paint dry on
your brushes. That damages the bristles and you want to extend the life of your brushes
as much as you can. So you have your paints. We have our scissors just in case. I always
carry scissors. Still haven't needed to use them. We have a hair dryer for-whenever we
need to set and dry the image that we're going to paint on. Our tweener to place in between
the two layers of the shirts so the paint doesn't bleed through. And we have our dirty
artistic painted towel to lay down... GRACE FRAGA: Nice. CHANTELLE TIBBS: ...so we don't
destroy and damage any property. So, yeah. GRACE FRAGA: Great. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Those
are the supplies that we would need. GRACE FRAGA: So, we have all the supplies and next,
we are going to start drawing on the T-shirt. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Uh-huh.
