[Ayodele Ojediran:] My name is Ayodele Ojediran.
I am a chemical engineering major.
This is my second year at Cerritos College.
I am a math tutor at the EOPS Center and I am a member of the ISA Club;
that is International Student Association.

[Ayodele Ojediran:] Last semester was a really difficult semester for me
because I was taking three science classes; that's physics, chemistry and calculus,
with other classes, and I was working at school as a math tutor.
And pretty much I didn't have time to do anything, like my weekends was spent
on homework, lab assignments and everything.
I had to study in between classes, like every little time I had, I had to study.
I studied all through my weekends.
I learned how to say no to my friends during the weekends, like everybody wants to hang out,
let's go to the movies, or something.
You just have to learn how to say no, like you really have to study.
I think education is really my priority.
I want to get my good grades.
I want to make myself proud, not necessarily my parents because I am doing this for myself.
So, I have to make sure I get my grades and keep up with the good work.
And I want to transfer to Berkeley.
I am trying to transfer to Berkeley, and I am trying to keep up with my 4.0,
so because they really want the high GPA.
It was really what I have to have at the end of semester.

[Ayodele Ojediran:] I learned how to make a list of what I want to do, like things I want
to achieve this week, how much homework I have to do,
how much studying I have to get done this week.
And I look at my class syllabus to let me know the deadlines I have.
So, I always try to meet my deadlines, like, set goals for yourself; that is what I would say.
And check your syllabus to make sure you meet all the deadlines
and you are not lagging behind.
Make sure you set up an educational plan.
I did not have that done when I got into my first semester,
so I am pretty much left with the difficult classes.
You want to mix up the easier classes and the difficult classes.
To set up an educational plan, make sure you go see a counselor,
and make sure you see a counselor more than one a semester, like after getting the plan,
make sure you can follow up with your classes.
