I'm Kelli and this is Colby on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to show you my opinions
and techniques on how to lunge a horse. Now that we've switched around directions, I am
just gonig to have her start off as a walk. I am just going to cluck to her, hold my whip
down behind her, hold my whip really low. I don't want her to pick up any speed. I just
want her to kind of walk around and chill out; easy. I'm staying right at her shoulder
pointing the whip at her haunches so that she stays out of way from me; easy. Always
talk to them too and tell them to walk. If your horse is trained to voice commands, they
listen really well to that. It keeps them calm. Just want her to walk around and kind of chill
out. Staying right at her shoulder, holding our whip and lunge line in a V formation to
keep her where she wants to go, whoa, whoa and that is how you will want to walk your
horse on a lunge line.
