In what police are calling a smash-and-grab theft, three suspects are on the run after
making off with half a million dollars in jewelry from an Atlantic City casino.
Here they are seen on the Borgata Hotel's surveillance cameras Monday evening. According
to investigators, the men broke through glass cases and grabbed the jewelry inside. (Via

After which, they reportedly fled on foot with their loot. Another suspect, believed
to be the getaway driver, is also wanted. (Via WCAU)
"I could not believe how easy that job was. It was not some well thought out Oceans 11,
Brad Pitt Matt Damon kind of thing. "(Via WYNW)
Was luck on their side? After all, they reportedly had no weapons and hotel security seems to
have overlooked them at first.
WTXF's Steve Keeley offers the hotel some advice, tweeting:
"Borgata may want to think about moving jewelry store closer to casino and further from exit"

This theft pales in comparison to some of history's greatest heists. In 2008, a group
of four men wearing wigs and dressed as women robbed a Harry Winston store in Paris, making
it out with an estimated $100 million in jewelry. (Via Bloomberg)
And dubbed the largest heist of the century, an Italian gang managed to haul off more than
$100 million of diamonds from an underground vault in Antwerp — without setting off any
alarms. (Via Wired)
The Borgata jewelry heist came as the luxury hotel celebrates its 10th anniversary.
