In this clip, we're going to learn how to build a major chord. Now that you know all
about half steps, whole steps and intervals. A major chord is basically, let's start we
can start on any note. But, let's start on C to make it easy. It's a major third up from
C, which is four half steps. One-two-three-four. A major third up and then a minor third from
E to G. That's a major chord, a C major chord. Because, the C is in the root or in the base.
Hear, that's a happy tone. So, how would we build a major chord in another note? Let's
pick a hard one. Oh, A flat. We've got to go a major third up from A flat. So, one-two-three-four
half steps. And, then a minor third up from there. One-two-three. And, you can recognize
that you hit a major chord. Because, of the happy sound. Major chord, here's another major
chord. Major chord. Major chord. Get familiar and quick with playing your major chords and
you're well on your way.
