>> Hi James.
My name is Jennifer.
I'm a Respiratory Therapist student.
>> What things would you do next?
>> I'm just here to set you up with some oxygen.
I'll put the mask on you.
>> We're the people who, if you can't breathe a
little bit or at all, we're there to help you out.
>> Where is his exhaled air going?
>> My family is a big group of smokers.
>> Or it could come out the side, too.
>> I really wanted to be able to help them and kind
of educate people about it.
>> Could you take a deep breath, then,
and hold it for me?
>> The programs are two years in length,
and at the end of that two-year period,
you can get a very good job.
>> Thirty to fifty.
>> So, it's ready to be inhaled.
>> A combination of classroom training and
clinical training.
>> How about cover him up?
>> Ask him if he needs anything.
>> So, we'll spend a pretty focused amount of
time learning patient care skills.
Then they go out to the clinical site and work
with real live patients.
>> It's really great to apply it right away.
I like the classroom size.
I love the success rate.
I'm really excited about that.
That means, you know, I can actually go out there
and not be worried that I can't do it.
>> Can you see this mist coming out?
>> It's always going to be a good career choice.
You're going to be helping someone.
It's so rewarding and it's worth the time.
>> How are we going to assess that there's enough
oxygen?
