Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. You’ve decided to change the drip bowls on your range.
I know, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out, but there’s a couple
of tips I want to show you, some things to look at while we have those drip bowls out.
Let me show you what I mean.
To change the six inch drip bowls on your range, first thing we need to do is make sure
all the burners are turned off, and that they’re cool to the touch; because we need to pull
the burners out. Simply lift up on one end of the burner, pull it out of the socket.
Take the drip bowl out.
While we have that apart, let’s have a look at the terminals on the end of this element.
Look for any signs of any arcing or burning, such as this one. If you find your burner
has any signs of that discoloration or arcing on it you need to replace the element and
the receptacle it plugs in to.
Take our new drip bowl, sit it in place, and make sure it sits nice and flat, line up the
small hole in the side with the element block. Take your element, line it up with the socket,
press it in, and drop it into place.
Do the opposite side, take the element out. This one looks good; no signs of any discoloration.
Again, take the drip bowl; line up the small hole with the socket. Line the element up,
push it in firmly until it’s seated properly in place. And there you go.
So there, we changed the drip bowls on your range. Wasn’t too hard, and hopefully you
didn’t find anything else wrong with your range; thanks for watching, and good luck
with your repair.
