So here I am on a bit of a road trip today, continuing this little mission of mine to
become great at presenting. Now, one of the things youve probably heard me say already
in this film, probably in the section earlier than this one, is that Ive been every
time Ive been watching TV and seeing a good presenter on TV, or perhaps walking around
in my daily life, maybe at work, and I see someone that is communicating in a really
great and effective way, I micro muscle them and model them. Now thats great, but the
problem with it being on TV is that Im not actually getting the real sensory experience
of actually being there in the moment.
So whilst its very useful, and I am actually noticing that certain behaviours Ive seen
in others Im starting to exhibit myself, which I find particularly interesting, Im
not actually there with them. Im not there in the full experience, so thats part of
the reason for my little road trip today
Im off to a seminar by NLP4Kids. Its going to be really interesting. How to use
the NLP patterning and applications with children to help improve them and better their lives
and help them with issues such as confidence and learning and all those great things that
we want our kids to do. Now theres some really specific ways in which we can help
them. The seminar itself is going to be really interesting for me personally, but at the
same time, Im going to be there with a number of presenters presenting, so Im
going to be modeling them. So it will be very interesting to see what happens, and yeah,
well, the train should be here very shortly, so Ill see you on the other side.
So here I am on the other side. Ive just been to the NLP4Kids seminar, and Ive had
a brilliant time. All the delegates were great. They all got stuck into the exercises and
made it a really interactive day and made it really fun, which is great because NLP
is supposed to be fun. Life is supposed to be fun, and this really came across in this
seminar. The people presenting were great presenters, too. Thats Gemma Bailey and
Kay Gill, which is great for me because, of course, I went down there to model people
that were good at presenting, so Im pretty certain Ive got something good out of this
day. Ill come onto that in a moment, though.
Lets talk about NLP4Kids for a moment because, ever since Ive got into the coaching and
self-improvement and hypnosis and NLP, Ive often thought to myself, Why is it that
this stuff isnt taught at schools? If its this great and its had this effect on me,
its had this effect on my clients, why is it that this isnt at schools? And
this is exactly what Gemma Bailey thought when she set up NLP4Kids, and Kay Gill then
joined her a little bit later with this same intention. Theyre going to schools and
theyre doing workshops and theyre helping kids and having some great, great successes,
as well. At the end of this video, Im going to pop some testimonials from the children
themselves, so what fun theyre having and how much theyre getting out of it
Its an awesome organisation, and I cannot recommend enough that you go and check them
out. Go and put that into Google, NLP4Kids, so its NLP, number 4, Kids. Go and have
a look. Go and check them out. Ive noticed theres some videos on YouTube. Actually,
its where I got these testimonials from, so go and check them out and have a look.
ust a little bit about those testimonials, as well, for a moment. A really wonderful
part of the seminar for me was when Gemma played the testimonials, and clearly these
kids were talking from her responses, her nonverbal responses
These kids would talk about her, and it was really quite sweet because she stood very
much to the side while the video was on a massive screen and all her nonverbal signals
that she was giving off just showed so much passion and showed so much that she cared,
and she was trying to suppress a grin the whole way through it. She loves it, and that
is so important with kids. If the person coming in to go and help them is that passionate
and that into it, you know the kids are going to get involved, because Gemma is being so
congruent. And the same was true of Kay when she was giving the presentation at the start
of the seminar and when she started explaining what theyre about and what theyre doing.
So anyway, thats NLP4Kids. Have a little look at the testimonials at the end of this
video. Go and check them out.
So the modeling, what did I get out of it? The real answer is I dont know yet, and
theres something very specific that I want to put forward to you. I went into the seminar,
and I was doing the modeling, and I actually lost track of time completely, which is actually
a good sign because it means that my consciousness kind of disappeared and I leant over my unconscious
essentially to the presenters. And I know, at times, I was popping out, and I was moving
a little bit like they were, which is a good sign that, at some point, I was going into
the modeling state, which is awesome
Now, I dont consciously know what Ive learned yet, and in addition to that, I am
not going to try and find out either. Im just going to carry on modeling presenters
and just allow that stuff to integrate in me. The reason for that is if I try and put
a conscious construct on what Ive learned, Im actually going to limit myself, and
I dont want to do that at the moment. I want to find out later what Ive learned
Its a very important part of modeling that you dont try and deconstruct what youve
just learned before its integrated into you and before youre actually able to present,
or in my case, before Im able to present as good or better than the people Ive been
modeling. Once Ive done that, then Im able to then go and deconstruct what Ive
been doing. So thats what Im going to do.
I hope thats been useful, and I will see you in
the next video. Enjoy the testimonials. Theyre awesome.
