Start by downloading, installing and opening i-Funbox.
There are versions for Windows and MAC OS and the download links are in
the video description.
A portable version is available, just look for the zip format.
Run the program and go to 'i-Funbox classic' tab.
Click on user applications
Select the whatsapp application icon.
Go to the library folder.
Select the media folder and click copy to your pc.
This process will take several minutes depending on the size of the conversations
stored and the processing power of your computer.
Do not be surprised with the final file size :)
Important: Follow the progress of the bar;
check that it will reach 100% to be sure that all files have been copied.
If not, repeat the operation.
Now, open the folder in explorer,
or finder, and perform a search like this:
This will return all the folders subfolders and files contained in the folder
you extracted.
You will be able to separate the files in the folders:
select the file at the end and, with the shift key pressed, click on the file
at the top of the list,
cut and paste it into any other folder.
The audio files will have the adts extension (or acc) or m4a.
Delete or ignore files with the extension. THUMB.
This is my result after removing these files
and renaming the other using another program.
Now, for the second part...
Go back to the main Whatsappfolder
Rather than go into 'library', click on the 'documents' folder,
Copy and paste on your computer the CHATSTORAGE.sqlite file;
That is the file that stores the text of all conversations.
Download SQLitestudio and use it to open this file.
Click on 'databases' at the top left menu,
add database
and select the previously copied file.
The ZWAMESSAGE table contains conversations.
To select conversations from a specific contact, locate the
SQL Editor in the upper right corner and enter the following query:
Where, in the example, I selected all the users who own the name started in Rodrigo.
Modify these values to suit your needs
