Hi! My name is Matthew Christian from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, today
I would like to talk to you about the proper use and maintenance of a yard edger. Let's
take a moment and talk about safety. When working with a hand tool or power tool, it
is always a good idea to practice good safety habits. What I mean by that is we are going
to be using a gas powered yard tool in a moment. It is a good to one, protect your ears. Here
is a pair of neoprene ear plugs. You squish them, stick them in your ear and they will
protect your hearing from the loud motor. Also a pair of gloves. When using the machine
for a period of time, you may callus your hands so protect your hands with a good pair
of gloves. Also since we are doing yard work and some dust what not is going to be kicked
up in the air, I suggest using a particle or dust mask. Then last but not least, a good
pair of safety glasses. Again, we are using a yard tool that is going to be throwing things
around. You don't want a piece of debris getting in your eyes. Worst case scenario, it could
potentially damage your eyes or blind you. Get yourself a pair of safety glasses and
wear them while you are using them as well.
