Even though I wasn't planning on taking the operation at that time because I've
dropped out of the program in 2009 because I wanted to try and diet myself
because I was a little bit scared of the operation.
Even though I wasn't sort of taking the operation at that time, I still went to
their meetings because we had, after the one year was passed, we had like
meetings, like once a month or maybe once every two or three months.
And I just kept going to those meetings because the people were really nice
and I felt like a community with them.
So I went to my doctor. Last Christmas, I went to my doctor
and I told him I can't do this because I have been in a diet program.
I lost maybe 20 kilos.
And I just really struggled. I had no motivation and slowly the kilos
came back on.
I just went there and said I need help.
And he said, you're really, really sure you want this because I don't think you
will get another chance?
And I said, yeah, what I really need is a physical block for absorption of food
I decided. Yeah,(and he said) but that's not enough. You have to bring your head into it as well.
Yes, I know, I said.
But -- I'm prepared to that but I can't do it without actually having the physical block.
And with a physical block, I mean smaller stomach and, especially, the smaller
intestines because it's so much less energy you can absorb.
So I've been spending almost a year now, in August, I was in -- mid-September.
I was nagging the hospital when do I get an hour, do you have anything to give
me because I'm going here waiting, again, nothing.
And they told me they were gonna have a meeting to decide who were gonna operated
in October and early next year.
And those who are going to be operated in October, it was such a short notice that
they would probably gonna call them.
And I just figured, okay, I must get into that one.
About one month later, no, it was actually three weeks later, I got a mail and this mail,
like a normal letter, from the hospital and inside there were two appointments,
appointments to pre-op and appointment to the operation
or hospitalization as it goes. And I was, like, what's this, is it what
I think it is? I was like -- That's probably gonna be
one memory because I really couldn't believe it.
I thought it was something else because I had a problem with something else
and I thought it was maybe for that.
And I called them the next day about 11 o'clock, I was just like, can you please
verify if this is what I think it is. And they were like, yeah, it is what you
think it is. And I was like, woo.
So I decided to start on the -- then it was like four and a half week until I was
gonna have the operation. So that's one four and a half week ago.
And decided that I would start early with the 1,000 calorie diet we have been told about.
And I'm actually glad I did it because it was not as easy as you may think it was.
What I have found is that you can eat, like, it's like a yogurt thing.
It's about this size.
It's about 300 milliliters
It's like a drinking yogurt, a little bit thicker, and it's about 200 calories per canister.
And it was quite filling, really, coz I've been living on those quite a lot.
It's been okay. I've been also eating like instant mashed potatoes.
This is really good.
If you eat it with a teaspoon, it's even more filling because you don't eat it that fast.
If you eat with normal spoons, like nom, nom, and you're still hungry.
So my advice to everyone who is gonna be on the 1,000 calorie period, find types of
food that you could eat which have less calories. I'm gonna fetch a couple of other things I'm gonna show you.
I'm gonna show you. I'm back.
In Norway, you have a lot of, like, instant food thingies.
This is also like an instant food thing. This is one of the ones I like the most.
It's clear vegetable soup. It has a little bit of macaroni in it.
It's like, almost like noodles thing.
And in each of this, this gives you 220 grams of finished food when you make it.
One package.
And one package of 220 grams have 66 calories in it, which mean, when you want
to eat dinner like I do, you have three of these -- . That is six deciliter.
That is kind of a lot of food to eat.
And it's really good.
So if you watch this and you're in a different country, there are usually
something like this.
Check how much calories in it. For a few of the other types in this kind
of packages, it was about a hundred, 110. So I usually pick two of those.
I didn't really care what's like ten or 20 calories above.
So I tried to eat five meals per day with about 200 calories.
If it goes a little bit above, it didn't really say anything about it.
So that is my tip for you. Yogurt is, normal yogurt is a little
bit too much in.
Go for the light yogurts. You could probably take a few of those if
there's very little calories in it.
If you don't like yogurt, you can always eat crisp bread.
I actually found that crisp bread with toppings that is like pure meat like roastbeef
or stuff like that, then you could have kind of a lot of topping.
It's, - for me that was about two crisp bread with two slices of pure meat topping.
It was pretty okay.
It was around 200 calories.
And salads, I know a lot of people don't like salads, but this is something you
really have to do.
If you're used to eating a lot of food, eat salads, a lot of salads.
Two crisp bread with each having two toppings of pure meat and then you have
a huge salad.
Do not use things like avocado.
Don't use high calorie dressings. We have like French dressing which
is almost like water but it has a little bit of taste in it.
That is nice, 60 calories per 100 gram, but don't overdo it because it still
counts above. So maybe like a teaspoon or a spoon
of that should be okay.
But as I said, cucumber is okay. I've actually found that China cabbage has
kind of a lot of calories, like a hundred grams, no, 400 grams China cabbage
is about 60 calories.
But 400 grams of cucumber is maybe 11 calories in comparison.
Tomatoes have kind of a little bit of calories but when you just have, like,
one tomato, few leaves of China salad and cucumber, you get kind of a big salad but
it's not a lot of calories.
Make the pieces big so you have something to chew.
It really helps on making yourself less hungry. Try not to chew them too well before you
swallow when you are in this period because you need the vegetables to fill up.
So that's my tip on the food.
I am a Pepsiholic.
I drink kind of a lot of Pepsi Max.
I know that after the operation now I need to take a break on Pepsi Max.
That's gonna be hell, because I'm sort of addicted to the ***.
And I have decided to drink a lot of water because my stomach is this small.
I need to drink water.
I'm gonna try and have water in everything I eat.
So that's about that. I don't really remember much to say about now.
I've been thinking of doing these blog videos for a while.
So this one is kind of long. It's almost half an hour now I see.
A bit about my background maybe now.
Should I save it for another time? I'll save that for another time.
I'm 33 years old.
I weigh currently around 177 kilos.
And I forgot to show your people how I look in my underwear.
So give me a second here.
So this is me.
These are my thighs. So.
This is my back.
So I'm just gonna say thanks for watching the Boof Blog.
See you next time.
